When taking pics, i don't use envisage but the Meade DSI

Autostar Envisage is Meade's latest name for the capture software that came on the disk I gave you. Have you updated the software at the Meade site since installing?

mono checkbox in envisage is greyed out and i can't uncheck it

Since you're taking colour pics we won't worry about that for the moment!

not sure why even changing the file format is a no go

In the capture software there is a button labelled 'Save Proc..' in the right hand top corner. If you press that button a dialog box will pop up. One the left hand side at the top of this dialog box is a drop down box labelled 'File Type' - you can select various file types. Just below this is another drop down box labelled 'Save Options' - there are quite a few options but I use 'Save all Uncombined images' , this saves all images in the 'Meade Images' directory and I can process them at a later time.

there are too many scanlines

Not sure what you mean by this - the latest version of Envisage lets you adjust timing - the images you have posted are all OK - you don't need to worry about this. What do you mean by 'too many scanlines'?

Have to say I was really blown away by your image of M46 - the planetary nebula was so bright and so Green for a 20 second shot! Keep up the good work!
