Hang on Tony. You should have recieved two adapters that go into the back of your Microfocuser. One is for the Stardiagnal and the other is for the focal reducer. I wondered about this as well so I posted a question at the yahoo LX200 group and this is what they suggested. For visual the people who responded said that it was fine to go straight after the telescope but for photography to avoid some issues (they didn't exactly specify what) to put it after the microfocuser. The adapter I'm talking about is threaded one end and is labelled "L" in Fig 6 on page 13 of your LX200 manual.
