DSLR preferably Canon, IMHO from what I have seen, the DSI is a toy in comparison. To get any decent result you will need a wedge as well, and for long exposures,some guiding. The LX200 Alt/Az mount isn't the best when it comes to astrophotography unfortunately. The added advantage of the DSLR is that you can use it for terrestrial photography. Most imagers eventually migrate to equatorial mounts. If you're really serious about photography and haven't yet paid for the LX200, it may be worth considering an alternative OTA on an equatorial mount, for example the Celestron 9.25 and EQ6 seems to be a popular choice for astrophotography work.
