Just thinking about adding dew control to a 12.5 conical primary mirror and wondered of anyone's thoughts on the topic.
I have the dew control electrical equipment, temp sensors for ambient and primary mirror readings, a program to set the temperature regulation according to the differential between the ambient and the primary mirror, but what don't have is the heating elements?!
The conical mirror shape excludes the use of standard primary heaters I see at Kendrick, so what could I use?
I thought I could use a number of oval shaped secondary heaters from Kendrick, spacing these evenly underneath securing with silicone. Perhaps also use a dew heater strap around the outer edge, maybe supplying a 50% load? Use resistors to complete this reduction so the outer edge isn't over heated.
I'm after a very slow soaking of the heat, even as possible. Just not sure what to use?
Any ideas would be gratefully received.
