That's a lovely shot for handheld. Guess the best thing is you can use your video camera fro other stuff too whereas the Toucam is just for astro stuff.

I have seen some quality planetary shots taken with camcorders, but by and large it must be a lot easier and more consistent to use a Toucam or Neximage, LPI etc. No reflections, less glass as DP says, easier to get and keep focus and with lots of settings to optimise - of course you do have to have a PC at the scope which could be a downside. Most of the really good planetary shots these days are taken with webcams... whether that's because they are better than camcorders or because it becomes a fashion thing with more people investing the time in learning and sharing experiences on these I'm not sure.
