Ron, I don't think that link will work if people don't have a facebook account.

It was the AGU that misled people. People at Nasa were scratching their heads over it from from what I understand happened. Universe Today rang NASA to check the accuracy of that article before posting it on there site and the JPL spokswoman they spoke to contacted Ed Stone (who was out of the country) and he then made that press release saying it wasn't the case that Voyager had left. The AGU since changed their headline saying it was a misunderstanding.

Oops. Voyager 1 has not left the solar system, after all.

The American Geophysical Union has apparently acknowledged the misunderstanding, and has changed its press release title.

Crickey, all I can say is lucky this headline never made it onto my page feeds, I would've been a tad annoyed, like many others I'm sure. For many of us, Voyager sure is our favourite little cosmic traveller
