I own a similar MAK buth the one from skywatcher (on EQ5 with RA motor, but the goto is coming soon for guiding purpose).
I think if you can afford it, then the ASI120MC s a good choice.
After i got my cam i only had 2x2 hours to play with it, and i'm a beginner in webcam imaging (used my cell phone for this purpose, before i bought the 120MC). i got these results:

I'm still curious about deep sky usage, but didn't have the time to test is it.
But the Mak is capable to do some decent deepsky images, but you have to aim for smaller targets with high luminosity (Done this images with Canon 40D):
