Yes agreed. I was thinking about it before I read this and just posted a higher contrast version. More exposure time of course always is a good thing. To some degree this is just experimentation with the DSLR. If I get a nice image I can concentrate just on that and set up the intervalometer and go to bed! Unfortunately this is a 4 in the morning scene.

Cheers Marc. Doing an allnighter with a DSLR was different to my normal imaging routine but I didn't take my astro gear to my dark site due to cloudy weather forecast and then I had 2 glorious clear nights!

Its an absolutely amazing camera. I thinking about getting a D600 as a 2nd time lapse machine due to limited time available to get the time lapses up. I'll see how the Sony Nex 6 works out first.
