As the stars are point sources, they are easily over-exposed in the original images (and in any subsequent stacking, but this is presumably not stacked). There is also evidence of motion or tracking error in the slightly oval-shaped stars. Focus may also be an issue. These will usually cause the blobby effect.
The galaxy, as an extended source, is not as noticeably affected by these artifacts.
Not too shabby though, I'd be very happy with that! Well done.
