re: AP telescope/focuser
Brett... I have a 2.7" focuser that I believe is the same as used on Mr Christen's early series telescopes... it has the 'rough' (black) finish that Mr C. refers to... the focuser housing is a relatively thin walled, sandcast alloy piece - but, has an absurdly heavy duty chrome-plated drawtube, that resembles a shiny mortar shell...no wonder Mr Christen said, 'you wouldn't have liked the original' (focuser)...
