Antique English Brass Table telescope Berry and Mackay c1880

Built around 1880, this Berry and Mackay (Aberdeen) brass Table telescope is optically in good condition. It is hard to tell from the photos, but this is a fairly massive scope, OTA length is around 100cm and stands 100cm high as shown in image 1, objective diameter is 75mm. I've only used it as a piece of furniture and have not ever seriously used it for astronomy. It is in truth a very pretty piece though.

Search for: English Table Antique Brass Telescope on ebay for similar items

Anyone buying this will need to do a few things:
  • Source/make a focuser knob (square shaft)
  • Fix the elevation clamping system
  • Polish the tube
  • Paint the legs black
  • Find/make a brass cap for the objective
It does not come with a box, what you see is what you get

$425 firm, buyer pays shipping. Check out similar scopes on ebay and you will know that this is a bargain.
