Light Pollution Action in France

As of July all shops and offices in France will have to shut off their lights at night, under a government decree from the Environment Ministry. The new law will cut carbon dioxide emissions by 250.000 tonnes a year.
The interior of non-residential buildings will have to be turned off an hour after the last worker leaves, and lights on buildings facades and in shop windows by 1 am.

There will obviously be exceptions like for example the Eiffel Tower with its 20.000 flashings lights .

I can foresee a mass exodus of astronomers leaving Au for France.
Well, maybe not.
