I got the impression that this scope was a bit of a fun scope for him at his dark site until his living arrangements changed. . But yes, this is correct - I'm looking for the largest
portable aperture I can get right now, and I'm planning for a much bigger scope later. You mentioned a 5" tabletop dob as an option and I see that you own an SW one - what are your opinions on it in terms of camping convenience/general performance?
EDIT: while I was writing this you answered my question! Thanks, that's definitely something I'll consider. At $200 it's a fairly risk-free option too
