For any car I reckon rent one for a weekend and take it for a good run.
Stuff that you don't notice in a 30 minute drive becomes painfully obvious on a long run, like how comfortable the seats really are vs how they feel for the first hour, what it is like going up hills fully laden, how well the aircon works, how annoying/good the layout is etc. etc.
New cars are such a big investment that I reckon a weekend rental in a worthwhile investment...and an excuse to travel to some dark skies
