Sounds like you had a great session there Charlie
And yes you have to see 47 Tuc before it gets lower. Currently you have to start early to get good views. But if you stay up late you can bag Omega Centauri as well. That is the granddaddy of all globulars. I like the views best at medium mags since high mags make it look more like an open cluster....
