How did you Sydney colleagues cope with the heat? We are after all pampered types and not used to it

I was ordered to paint the stairwell !! It was 40 deg C at the top, and 32 deg C at the bottom. The paint dried before it left the brush. It was just hopeless.
Exhausted......
