It's very frustrating

After spending days on two different fire grounds, it's very frustrating to read about kids lighting fires in Sydney and also Bendigo.

Not only is it a danger to themselves, a sudden wind shift could see a fire suddenly turn back on them it is also a danger to the community, property and the men and women who attend these fires, obviously a fact that does not compute in their pea sized brains.

I'm not sure what the answer is to this behaviour as fining parents doesn't seem to be a deterent and I never seem to hear of any harsh detention time being dished out.

It's bad enough having to go out and fight a fire that has started naturally let alone attending one with the knowledge that some idiot has deliberatly lit it.

I fight fires to protect our community and I am glad to be able to put something back into it, I also travel to other zones when possible to assist other brigades.

Just once I would like to see these people really get get hung out to dry as a example to other.

Will it be a deterent? Will it stop others, who knows.
