Experiment with a ASI120MM Planetary Camera on M42

Lately I've been using an FSQ106 with a ASI120MM for doing some planetary data collection with surprising results. Last night I was going to collect some more data to see if I could push it a bit further but there was significant turbulence present and I figured I was wasting my time so I decided to test its performance on deep space targets. - Just for fun

This is not an overly long exposure and to avoid messing around too long with stuff I just used the same collection software I was using to capture Jupiter data (Firecapture). After a bit of fiddling, I found that setting exposure to 20seconds and collecting ~2mins of data from each channel (LRGB) at f/5, I was able to get enough to produce an image with some detail.

Stacked with Registax and processed in Gimp, here is the end result.
