Hi Stu,
The one you got looks the same as the one I got for my son as well. Jaycar model although I got mine elsewhere.
They fly well my son is 14 and still getting used to it although it can handle the knocks well.
Ive had to modify my sons already and found a Chinese dry joint in the remote control but when I complete the final mod I think it will do really well for a first goer.
I will be working with my son on a quad-copter in the future though.
