I took the boat across to Tassie with my wife a couple of weeks ago, to re-connect after more than a month on the road post eclipse. I was under strict instructions to limit camera use, so fortunately 5 out of the 8 nights were cloudy. On the 3 clear(ish) nights I snuck out and setup a camera for all night timelapse, in the hope of grabbing some aurora. Luckily, it showed up

Fairly low level activity, but very cool after many failed attempts from mainland Oz.
2 of the nights were from the southern tip of the Tasman Peninsular. In retrospect, I think that was a bit far south/east. Clouds scoot around the south of Tas and head north just missing or clipping the peninsular. Next time I'll try further inland, south of Hobart.
