Hi All - Finally broke my rotten run of luck with Jupiter this morning. Left the Mewlon 180 out to cool over night and rose at 3.30am to thin but full cloud cover. Was on my way back to bed when I thought, bugger it, I'll image through cloud if I have to I'm so sick of no astronomy - I also had fresh in my mind that time a couple of weeks ago when I packed it in and Dennis scooped the planetary pools

In a reversal of the normal run of things by the time I got setup the cloud had gone to reveal 8/10 seeing.

Reeled off 20 avi's over an hour - still a fair bit to process and some tweaking to do, but pulled four shots that span much of the sequence into one pic below.
1,2 and 4 were 1/10 s exposures at 10fps and the 3rd was 1/10s exp at 5fps- I think you Can see the extra detail in that one.
Anyway I'm as happy as a pig in Mud

, these are easily the best Jupiter's I've produced - even better when you consider they were take with just a 7inch scope!
cheers,
