Wow, what a great sight Peter.
I recently spent some time flying in some medical retrieval flights down south (helicopters, BC-12s, and a Learjet) and had the chance to enjoy the night sky from the copilot seat at highish altitudes (up to 27,000 ft). It was amazing to see familiar stars as tiny points of light with little/no seeing effects.
