There is special oil you can use called "Salad Bowl Oil". You can buy it from bunnings. It's a citrus based "food safe" oil dressing especially for wood. It was recommended to me by a "pro" wood turner here in town.
It smells divine, and a little goes a long way.
I use it on my chopping boards and salad bowls.
The one i use is a different brand, but I dare say it's very similar.
