I see that the railway line between Werris Creek and Narrabri will be re-opened soon after three weeks to rebuild the bridge.

I have been reading a book about railway disasters in Australia where similar bridge wrecking disasters have happened in the days where the railway was the only way. In all cases a temporary bypass has been constructed to get the freight moving within 24 hours while restoration work can be carried out at a much more leisurely pace.
