The other option is a system restore, Its always the last resort for hardware that "use to work"

Either via safe mode (F8 during startup, post BIOS) or by using the run command type rstrui.exe and follow the onscreen instructions.

The other thing you can do, is turn off the pc, remove the power cord, whilst the power is off hold the power button for 30 seconds, this is called a power flee test, and for unknown reasons it sometimes works
