Hey Pat,
Hmmm you might be able to use it but you'd need a way of putting it into your imaging train. Obviously you cannot screw it directly into your 60Da so there must be another means. I tried it with relative success with my DSLR, I used a OAG which had a filter drawer with T-threads on it. So the train was (Telescope)--->(OAG)--->(Filter Drawer/holder)--->(DSLR via T-Thread).
In terms of it being a better LP filter, remember that the Ha will only let in Ha light and has a bandwidth of 7nm, so in theory yes it will be a much better filter but only if you are looking to shoot in Ha. Since it blocks absolutely everything else out you obviously cannot use it for a OSC image, since you will end up with a red image/convert to B&W like the mono cameras show here on this site. If you are looking for only Ha imaging, then it doesn’t get better than this. It's amazing how much it blocks out, full moon and you can barely tell it's there.
I hope all this makes sense/answers your question?
