Hunting through the trees

G'day All,

I've been lurking about the deep sky/Solar System sections for a while and am quite impressed with what people are producing from the backyard. The talent you all display is awesome and well done to you all.

I have never been one for astrophotography, much more a visual observer. Since getting a DSLR though things have changed and my friends had to sit down with a stiff drink when they realised I was seriously dabbling in astrophotography.

I really like to take what I term, wide angle astro-landscape photography. In fact there is a similar shot to the one below in the latest AS&T, although I seem to be behind the times according to them "This kind of shot used to be all the rage back in the late 1980's".

Anyway, they give me pleasure and I hope you enjoy as well.

Canon 350D (un-modified) 29sec exposure, F5.6, 1600 ISO, Tungsten WB (this gives the sky that really prominent blue).

Peter.
