I've been loving my telescope and all the information and inspiration on this site but there's a few things I'm struggling with. How do you find objects you can't see? Like faint galaxies, nebula etc. I wanted to test out Backyard EOS last night but there wasn't really any bright targets (my backyard is quite narrow so I have a limited strip of sky). I settled on NGC7009 but I couldn't see it through my Telrad. I tried using the setting circles and (once I worked out which direction to set them

) I still couldn't find it!
I'm very tempted by the digital setting circle article as I have quite a few of the components already and a brand new soldering iron I haven't played with yet, but is that the best way? Without a 'goto' function is there a 'knack' to finding faint targets?
