I'm up at North Lakes which is kind of on the border where city meets country and it's not too bad. My backyard is alright for schoolnights, but I usually just go down to the river about 10 minutes away for a darker sky and to get away from trees. It's a mangrove so there's loads of mozzies and bugs though. And it's not particularly local for you
