I took all the bearings and brass gears out and cleaned them, then regreased them all and replaced them. They didnt look too bad in the first place so I think the main thing that I did to change the way that the mount performs is adjusting the gear to worm engagement.
On a side note I got my protostar flocking sheets for my new scope today, it is very black!
