Never look a gift horse in the mouth

If the partial denture is just those 2 front teeth, there is something to be said for paying a bit extra for a Valplast R denture. If your dentist has not heard of them, get him to look them up. There are labs in Sydney who make them, not sure about Perth. Like everything else, they have their pluses and minuses. They look great(no wires as such), they are small and light(comfortable) and the base cannot break as it is flexible injection moulded nylon. The disadvantages are they pick up stains and are nearly impossible to add extra teeth to. They are not suitable for all cases. Mind you, having the cost paid by the taxpayer(Ok, it is borrowed money) should ease the biggest pain of dental treatment-the cost. Interesting how quickly people get used to their dental treatment for free and have no intention of ever going back if they have to pay for it. Like all the vote buying exercises governments do, they are easy to put in place, but extremely difficult to remove once in place.
