1.47" isn't bad. Considering it's quite a featureless galaxy I don't think you'd gain much from focal length. Perhaps other specrums are required to get something more? That would be an interesting experiment

Here (attached) is my NGC survey shot of it, taken at 0.86" (2190mm FL), it's 10x30sec. Taken in 2009.
