Star Trek 2009 movie, too mainstream

Being a huge trek fan I was somewhat disappointed of the new movie. The first time I saw it I didn't think highly of it but after watching it a few times I didn't mind it at all. The CGI was crazy in it and the story line was decent but it now unfortunately after Star Trek's reboot it has become WAY too mainstream

Anyone here who is a fan of the series of first 10 movies, did you feel the same way as well?

I believe Star Trek as I have known it does not exist anymore and it's a shame. I loved the characters, story lines and the physics behind it all which made it different to your mainstream Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica franchises.

I will continue to watch the new movies they keep pumping out but it will never be the same!

Anyone here thought Star Trek has become too mainstream?
