Apparently lots of negotiating has been going on about this for a while.
Javier Bardem was nominated to play Roland Deschain, the Gunslinger. I think he would have been really good. He could have just done Anton Chigurh again, (from No Country For Old Men
) Well, maybe Roland Deschain is different, OK.
Universal backed away from the project, and now Warner Bros has too. The latest I can find is that Russell Crowe is being touted for the lead role. I don't like that choice (not tall enough or menacing enough), but it would be a great project with the right actor, director and producer. I think maybe Hugh Jackman, eh?
Hope they don't stuff it up, as so with John Sandford's Lucas Davenport character.
