You're right Greg - definitely a great combo. The only thing missing from my lens kit is really:
- Fast Portrait lens (50-85mm, f2.8 or so)
- Long lens (300mm+).

One day!
105mm or 85mm is a good portrait.
I use 50mm F1.8 and 85mm F1.8 on my Nikon and these are relatively affordable and fabulous performance lenses.

You can get a classic Nikon 105mm F2.8 or F2.5 lens which is considered one of the best portrait lenses of all time for $200 and a Nikon to Canon adapter for under $20 on ebay. You do manual focus but portraits aren't usually moving around so thats no problem.

In fact some of these older Nikon AIS and AFD lenses are incredible value for the performance. Apart from no AF some of the better ones would be up there with L lenses for 1/6th the price. 28mm F2.8 AIS Nikon has a great reputation for example and goes for around $350 on ebay 2nd hand.
