High level cloud obscured any sightings last night from here in Tinderbox, just south of Hobart. I was on the lookout up until about 11.00pm.
The aurora on the previous night was visible as a broad diffuse glow between the broken cloud banks. I could not detect any colour, however viewing to the low horizon to the south was heavily clouded.
The outstanding visual aurora that I have managed to see this year is still the one on 15th July.
Cheers
Steve.
