DBK21AU618.AS First Light - Mars, Uranus & Jupiter

Who would believe that on receiving a new DBK21AU618.AS camera, we would have not one, but TWO clear nights and mornings in a row? That's definitely a first for me.

Here are the first (planetary) images with this camera. Unfortunately the seeing here in Adelaide has been rubbish for the past week, but still I was impressed with the capabilities of this camera. The extra sensitivity (and therefore faster exposure time) definitely has the potential to produce better images with my C11 scope.

I was amazed it produced a usable histogram for Uranus with a 3x barlow! The colour balance is bluer than I was using with my mono camera + filters, but is obtained with settings that gave a neutral cast for the moon, so I think it is close to "real".

To compensate for the really soft seeing, I've been pretty heavy handed with the processing. Now can't wait for some better seeing to get some decent images.
