With a 500gb/mth plan to fool with I would consider it so close to zero that it's, for all intents and purposes, free.
If the average teenager with a phone sends 2,000 to 4,000 SMS messages per month ( http://www.mobilemarketingwatch.com/...s-4050-10318/#) then at 20kb per message (high end - texting is usually shorter) then that's around 80Mb per month. Big deal.

I have a 1gig plan on my mobile. That costs enough. Cant imagine what a 500gig plan would cost.
My SMS cost is minimal as I don't use it much. It's just the point that the internet isn't free, we just pay for it at a different time to the phone.
