I think this is more a 6D versus 5D2 or 7D scenario for Canon users rather than 6d versus Nikon D600.

As far as 6D versus 5D2 goes I think it will come down to sensor performance. If the sensor has the same level of performance as the 5D3 then it seems to be a sensible upgrade as the 5D2 AF also only has 1 cross type point.

As far as 60D or 7D to 6D goes that may depend on your use. Again if 6D sensor is similar in performance to 5D3 then it should be a nice upgrade from 60D (no swivel screen though). For 7D though its not so clear as the camera is a step down in AF system and build. Some people want the extra reach of the 7D crop sensor with a pro body full featured setup.

As far as 6D verus D600 its much clearer. The D600 appears to beat it in every regard except wifi ($59 accessory) and gps.
Again Sony Exmor sensor with its class leading performance. Autofocus system is much more advanced on D600. Sensor is 24mp versus 20. High ISO performance is yet to be found out for the 6D but for D600 it is much the same as the sensational D800's.

D600 is 95% of the D800 whereas 6D is 75% of 5D3. Initial DP reviews of 6D say its a full frame with 60D body less some features less the swivel screen.

But if you are invested in Canon glass then again you are locked in and it would not make sense to jump to Nikon.
But the reviews so far are quite clear D600 is class leading here and it is being received very well and is available right now (Nikon learnt from the extremely slow delivery of D800/E after its launch perhaps?).

Greg.
