Optimized for imaging usually means that the tube is shorter. This means that the focal plane is placed where you can get focus with a camera rather than an eyepiece. This also means that in order to use an eyepiece with it you will need to get a (cheap) extension tube to put into the focuser first which moves the eyepiece to where it can focus.
