Crested Hawk

These chaps always turn up in winter, feeding on stick insects and tree frogs, high up in the blue gums around the property-harmless to small birds, unlike the collared sparrow hawk that also gets around the same time of year.

Hope this is of interest, taken with a 50D and 400 L series lens,I'll find the settings if needed. This camera and lens just won me first, second and third in an advanced wildlife photography comp,I nearly did not put any entries in,as I knew some people that had 500 and 600 L's were putting entries in the same section and knew I'd be totally out gunned, but the 400 L-the little lens that could!
