Sounds a bit like the Pentax XL's I have. Generous eye relief and forgiving eye placement characteristics make for a 'picture window' type experience.
As a contrast, I had a look through Daves set of orthos last night, and the 18 and 25mm UO orthos are very sensitive to eye placement, get it wrong and you see nothing.
