my HEQ5pro will just track well enough for imaging at 11kg - less would be better. And forget it if the wind is blowing and you have anything like that load. However, it can work OK sometimes and it is almost certainly the lowest cost mount that could be considered capable of serious imaging of DSOs. If you go that path, would strongly advise that you get one with GOTO or you will have to go down another rabbit warren trying to find out how to make it guide later on - the Synscan mount connects directly to an industry standard guider and just works.
