Goto: not a must, no. hmm.
I did find Lagoon in the camera eventually. And that was pretty much without the GoTo function - the slewing up there was too far from target.
Goto and tracking are much much much better in the eastern lower altitudes where Auckland's city glow is. I probably have an EQ5 version afraid of the dark.

The funny thing:
In April, I had ordered an HEQ5 Goto from ChCh but got delivered a non GoTo. And was told: "that's what you get in NZ when you order a HEQ5 Goto." Which made me furious! I suspected all sorts of criminal salesmanship. Hell hath no fury ... It must have been a misunderstanding on his side.
Would be funny to buy that now on trademe. Could be the exact same device I already had in April. Did he finally give up pretending it is the more expensive GoTo? (No, just kidding.)
