I've been looking around - again! - on how to solve my imaging problem (used EQ5 with GotoStar controller_motors) and 8" newt.
The tube weight incl. all other accessories (dove tail bar, tings, finder, etc..) weighs 9kg and the mount just can't deal with this.
I've found the
Celestron Advanced Mount GoTo - CAM which would cost 1400 NZ$ new, incl shipment and NZ GST.
Max weight listed is 12kg.
There's a
review with photos, some are 150secs exposures, unguided.
AND they were taken with a tube that weighs 9.4kg all on its own.
(The ice on the tube is shocking, though...)
Is anybody here using this mount for imaging?
I just need a few voices to strengthen my resolve
