I remember reading a review on these Istars in Sky & Night. They commented that mounting isn't purely a weight issue but actually torque on the mount when slewing due to the extra length of the OTA (especially if there is any wind). Consequently they recommended at least an EQ6PRO with the tripod legs fully extended at all times so as to avoid sitting on ground when observing beyond 60'
