The soil, what there is of it, is mostly clay type of stuff. there's no dry stuff in those pics, the darker patches in the paddocks is mud, sloppy, mud, and the greener bits are just undisurbed mud
. The horses really make a mess.
It will be a while before I get a pier so will probable use the concrete slabs under the tripod to start with.
