Another thing that works well is pull inside of old electric blanket out. You get about 20 - 30 meters of insulated heating wire that is great for home made dew straps.

Yes I saw that in a post recently, a good source of Nichrome at a great price
but unfortunately I think it's resistance per metre was not suitable for the controller I used.
