Yeah, 'diamond dust' is the Canadian term... I think. I really enjoyed that first northern winter experiencing some really interesting weather phenomena. First week it got to -37C and the moisture completely froze out of the air, causing a strange fog. Later in the day you could feel your skin chapping from the extreme dryness. All new for this cold deprived west aussie
