Before the transit of Venus i was troubled with a bad blocking filter but I also bought a 0.5 prostar reducer to fit the whole solar image on the chip of the DMK41. Well i had a soft spot and i wasn't sure if it was due to the crook BF or if it was a defective reducer. Anyway I had the filter replaced and after asking nicely I was able to get a replacement reducer to compare with the current reducer i had. WOW what a difference - I was really pushing it uphill with the transit setup - in a way i was lucky to have got what i did. Might be the same batch but i think i must have a Friday or Monday version
